1B. Lifeguard, Virginia Хит Сезона CLOSED Job Title: Lifeguard Location: Virginia. Description: Work as a lifeguard in resorts, hotels and water parks. 50 positions available (male and female) The students will be responsible for the safety of pool patrons, take water chemistry and balancing. They will also need to maintain clean pools and positive patron relations. In addition to the above duties, students will be delegated pre-season opening responsibilities, such as cleaning pool areas in preparation for the start of the season.
Start date: The earliest you can arrive for lifeguarding work is May 19. The latest an international Member can arrive to work for lifeguarding is May 26. Lifeguarding work can be provided through September 7-15. Work and Travel participant must be able to speak and read English fluently. Work and Travel participant must know how to swim. The Company offers Lifeguarding (LGT, CPR & First Aid) classes, you will be required to Swim 500 yards (About 400 meters) continuously using two (2) different strokes (front crawl (free style) and the breast stoke). You will also be required to swim 20 yards using the front crawl or breast stroke, surface dive to depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound brick off the bottom of the pool, return to surface and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object held in both hands with your face above water. Cost of LifeGuard classes (deducted from your salary): New Lifeguards: $300.00 (Agreement is signed for 2 installment payments which will be paid over the first month of employment). All lifeguards will complete lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid course. Pool Operators course is given at the same time. Failure to carry the proper certifications while working results in suspension, fine, and/or dismissal. The cost of pool operator is $75.00, this test is taken from the county. Returning Lifeguards: Returning lifeguards will need to update their cards. Cost for CPR recertification is $50.00. Cost for lifeguarding recertification $150.00. Housing provided: NO. Salary: $7.80 per hour. Uniform: $70.00 which includes a company red bathing suit (1 piece suit for women, swim trunks for men) and a company t-shirt or tank-top. Any red one piece girl’s suit or red boy’s swim trunks can be used. These can be purchased in your county. The company t-shirt is required to be purchased ($20.00). Uniforms are mandatory and must be worn while on duty. You may wear other suits (and should do so) when off duty. Selected participants will have to pass the interview with the employer over SKYPE. During the busiest part of the year, mid July thru the end of August, you may need to work 7 days a week. Students need to be flexible and want to speak English. We are a small operation and offer at least 20 days of work per month with as much as 30 days also available. So students know how much they can earn a month. We are starting our fair season now so days can be long 10am thru 11 pm with 45 lunch break, half hour dinner break and when possible we are giving a few extra hours off. Your duties could include food preparation, light cooking, counter service, janitorial duties. Placement of equipment upon arrival at a new location and preparing same for removal at the end of each event. You will be retrieving ice from a freezer and loading and unloading 40 pound ice cases from a truck and making deliveries to local business along the New Jersey shore and surrounding areas. You may be assigned a position upon your arrival based on the needs of your employer at that time. You should be prepared to do any or all of the following: assisting the ice factory (making ice, factory maintenance etc.,) driving ice trucks around the area, delivering ice to locations. This job requires a lot of heavy lifting and you will spend a lot of time in the ice freezer Start date: May 6th End Date: Sep 5-15th 20 positions available (Male) Salary: Your salary will begin at $7.25 per hour up to 40 hours and then time + ½ for any hours over 40, during your training period. This training period will last approximately 3 weeks, or until you feel confident enough to proceed without supervision of your daily scheduled duties. After, your pay will go up to $8.00 an hour up to 40 hours and $12.00 an hour for hours over 40. If you are a hard worker and are eager to learn, you can expect a lot of overtime hours!
